Waterlinks Investments Sell Hawick Knitwear
Waterlinks Investments have confirmed the sale of Hawick Knitwear Ltd to the Managing Director Benny Hartop.
The company was established by Waterlinks in 2000 to manufacture quality knitwear for contract customers and the proprietary brands Hawick Knitwear and Clan Douglas.
The business will be owned by Benny Hartop and will continue to be run by the existing Management team. Strategically the business will follow the path set by Waterlinks and continue to work with premium brands under private label and continue to develop their in-house brands.
Sue Watson, one of the partners at Waterlinks Investments said “We would like to wish Benny and his team every success in the future development of the Hawick Knitwear Business.”
Benny said “This is an exciting time to be buying the business. During 2009 we enjoyed a modestly successful year and in 2010 we are on track to deliver our budgeted profit. Competing against products manufactured in the Far East will always prove challenging for us but with the skills, enthusiasm and flexibility we have both in Hawick and Galashiels, I am sure we will build on the success of the last 2 years.”
